At Walt Disney World Resort
in Orlando, the 20th Annual Epcot Flower and Garden Festival
is almost ready to bloom. The event begins March 6 runs through May 19, 2013.
Epcot guests can experience newborn butterflies, gardens with worldwide influence, gardening seminars, and even find topiaries shaped like some of their favorite Disney characters.
In all, visitors will find more than 75 Disney Character plants and dazzling topiaries, some measuring up to 12 feet wide and 8 feet tall. The amazing topiaries are among the top attractions and include:
- Mickey Mouse and Friends
- Phineas and Ferb
- Beauty and the Beast
- Simba and Friends
- Woody and Lotso
- Peter Pan
- Lady and the Tramp
- Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
- Winnie the Pooh and Friends
According to Disney, daily care of the unique topiaries includes watering, fertilization, trimming, pinning and touch-ups, as necessary.
Another new attraction at this year’s Epcot Flower and Garden Festival is the Land of Oz, an all-new garden and children’s play area inspired by Disney’s new feature film, “Oz the Great and Powerful.”
The Epcot Flower and Garden event also features the Flower Power Concert Series, with legendary bands performing at the America Gardens Theatre each Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the Festival. Performances are held at 5:30 pm, 6:45 pm and 8:00 pm each day.
